This is the original quilt I made for my "treasure map" pattern at the first of this year. It is made with fabrics from "Mod Century" fabric designed by Jenn Ski for Moda. I am very proud and flattered that Jenn Ski herself has purchased this quilt for her collection! wow. Cleo and I took it to the park today for a photo shoot before we mail it off tomorrow. One of my favorite parts of this quilt is the quilting...sashiko style in black thread in criss-cross pattern around the "x" shapes. Cleo, my pup It feels a bit strange to let it go....

I have a new pattern to introduce to you! (and I will give some away, too) I have finished the Treasure Map quilt and pattern, and now have it in my shop. This design is perfect for using either a layer cake or fat eight bundle (I used the fabric collection "Mod Century" from Moda) along with some solids for a modern look. The solids in my quilt are linen/cotton blend and I like the texture that they lend. The pattern includes instructions for a small lap quilt or crib quilt (54" x 56"). I backed mine with flannel to make it...

So, I have been working hard to meet my goal of finishing a quilt this month: the one using my Mod Century bundle combined with the Essex linens and shot cottons. I am actually on target to finish two, since I am binding my jewel box quilt, too! here are some blocks sewn, but not squared up. I finished trimming all 48 blocks today and hope to start putting them together tomorrow.
