I have a "new" pattern in my Craftsy pattern shop: Beach Comber. This is not a completely new pattern as I released it before I rebranded to Color Girl and made improvements on all my patterns, so I should say this one is "Back!" I made this quilt last spring, starting with a layer cake of "Lucy's Crab Shack" by Sweetwater for Moda, and the bright solids. So You Don’t Like to Appliqué…

Have you ever seen a quilting pattern that you loved, but didn't make it because of a single element that intimidated you? For me, this is usually appliqué. I might love a sampler, or a medallion or other project, but applique usually rules it out for me. It's too bad, because it really limits me creatively to avoid a certain technique. Book Club 2013-14

Quilters’ Book Club project: flying geese

I was a bit overambitious when I took this project to Sewing Summit last week. I was expecting to have more open sewing time for personal projects. Oh, well. I got these bits sewn during lunch hours. The design for these blocks is inspired by the book, "PillowPop", which is our September Quilters' book club feature. I mentioned in my post about this book that the patterns would be really fun to adapt to any kind of sewing project, not just for pillows. I am going to make a Mini Quilt using four of these blocks.
