It is so exciting to show you this amazing quilt! My friend Carol made this version of the Eclipse quilt with the green kit option that's available in my shop. I am so impressed with her skills, and super thrilled with how the selection of prints and colors look together.
The Eclipse quilt is confident level quilt pattern that uses the Classic Curves Ruler. When I made the sample for the pattern, I chose a bright yellow print for the main background fabric...I love how unexpected it is for a main color and how the bright prints really shine. ...
Last week I told you about the newest pattern now available for the Classic Curves Ruler, Black Jack. I've been having a bit of fun this week dreaming up how this pattern might look in a variety of fabrics and colors. The original pattern sample is super graphic, high contrast, so here are some examples of how you can put your own creativity into this design. Go crazy with favorite prints in your stash or spring for that pretty new bundle you've had your eye on.
Okay, how cool is this version in low contrast, large scale prints? I think...

Today, I have instructions for making this pretty variation on my Mermaid quilt pattern. This is the same sewing and layout as the original pattern, but you get a whole new look by changing the placement of colors and prints.
Clamshell is one of my favorite classic quilt designs. I like how this pattern gives you the classic shape, but made in a unique and modern quilt. To follow these instructions and make a quilt like mine, you will need the Mermaid pattern and a Classic Curves Ruler for quick and easy cutting of the shapes.
Cut the following "set"...
Summer has officially arrived in our house. The kids are out of school, we've been on our bikes and they have gotten out the water balloons. Another exciting arrival: the brand new Picnic quilt pattern! This is the second full pattern available to accompany the Classic Curves Ruler.
Picnic introduces a new shape for the CCR, and one of my all time favorites: the orange peel. I don't know why I love this block so much, but I think they are really fun to make and experiment with layouts and additions. I have two other patterns using this shape: Whimsy...
