If you are on instagram, you may have seen a bit of buzz about two fabric manufacturers, Dear Stella and Timeless Treasures, sponsoring a mini quilt contest. Joy is... ...taking my sewing machine to pre-school to sew sails for homemade sailboats! …going for a ride with the window down after a long, cold winter. I haven't done a flashback post in a while, so tonight I want to share a quilt I finished in 2007. I love how the creation of a quilt helps me remember certain times in my life, they all have some association for me. This quilt was a collaboration. I found the appliqué blocks in a pattern by Hopscotch Quilts, but I wanted to create my own design around them. Since I didn't appliqué then (still don't), I recruited my mom to sew the appliqué blocks while I did the piecing. This quilt holds a happy memory for me as I worked...

I know I am a bit late, but, "Happy New Year" to all. What a great year was 2013! I had lots of fun chronicling my quilting projects here. Just want to remember a few of my favorites of 2013… Above: Midnight at the Oasis (work in progress, check out the Quilt Along page!) I am heading off to Sewing Summit in Salt Lake City tomorrow! so excited. Be sure and leave a comment and let me know if you are going to be there, too. I am taking fabrics with me to make a mini quilt based on the Flying Rainbow block from our September Book Club book, PillowPop. These beautiful rainbow scraps will be the geese. I am loving the colors!! It took me FOREVER to decide on the fabrics so that they made a nice blendy rainbow. Should be a fun, quick one to make during open sewing time. I won't be posting...
