It is that fun time of year when people all over the world of quilty blogs meet at Sew Mama Sew for giveaways!I think this is a fun event because I get to find people I've never "met" before, and see their inspiring quilts and sewing projects. It also happens to bring new friends to my blog, so that's fun, too.I have two giveaways today. The first relates to a recent project here at Fabrics & Flowers, and that is "Quilters' Book Club". I just posted the last month (for this year) and am getting ready to start a...
If you are on instagram, you may have seen a bit of buzz about two fabric manufacturers, Dear Stella and Timeless Treasures, sponsoring a mini quilt contest. You can read more about it Here. The rules were to make a 20" mini quilt using only fabrics made by these two companies (no solids allowed). The idea is to make something traditional into something modern. Now, I don't need another project, but Minis are soooo much fun, and how about a reason to use some stash fabric? Also, I had Lasik surgery last week, so my eyes have only been up to...

I haven't done a flashback post in a while, so tonight I want to share a quilt I finished in 2007. I love how the creation of a quilt helps me remember certain times in my life, they all have some association for me.
This quilt was a collaboration. I found the appliqué blocks in a pattern by Hopscotch Quilts, but I wanted to create my own design around them.
Since I didn't appliqué then (still don't), I recruited my mom to sew the appliqué blocks while I did the piecing.
This quilt holds a happy memory for me as I worked...

I am heading off to Sewing Summit in Salt Lake City tomorrow! so excited. Be sure and leave a comment and let me know if you are going to be there, too.
I am taking fabrics with me to make a mini quilt based on the Flying Rainbow block from our September Book Club book, PillowPop.
These beautiful rainbow scraps will be the geese. I am loving the colors!! It took me FOREVER to decide on the fabrics so that they made a nice blendy rainbow. Should be a fun, quick one to make during open sewing time.
I won't be posting...
