Making more Super Simple Sampler Blocks! This all-pink quilt is really growing on me, what do you think? Was hoping to have it done to gift for Christmas, but that’s not going to happen (-: It will have to be New Year (as in, later in 2019) gift.
How about you? have you been working on your blocks? There is a new video up on Color Girl YouTube this week. It’s a detailed tutorial on how to sew block #24, which includes a partial seam sewing technique. This trick is not scary! It’s a handy technique to learn so you can apply it to other quilt blocks. It really creates a neat look.
I think this block is a cute one in its simplicity. Each block in the series is designed to be very easy to cut and sew…ideal for beginners and veteran quilters alike. While the blocks are basic, they offer a good variety of skills to add to your toolbox, from partial seams to strip piecing, and key quilting elements like flying geese and half-square triangles.
The partial seam video tutorial is one in a series that focuses on learning these key skills while sewing up the sampler blocks. You’ll find the instructions for all 36 blocks here on the website <<click here>> and you’ll find the Super Simple Sampler series of video tutorials on Color Girl YouTube <<click here>>
Be sure and subscribe to the channel, there are lots of great projects planned that you won’t want to miss.
Happy Holidays!
