You guys know that I am a big Alison Glass fan, right? Her fabrics are so COLORFUL! So you know I am super excited to share a finished quilt (and the next new pattern for the Classic Curves Ruler!) as well as her newest collection of fabrics; they are sooooo yummy.
Voila! the Radiance quilt. I am putting the finishing touches on the pattern now, so be on the lookout for an announcement in the next couple weeks. Be sure you’re on my email list for first dibs and *maybe* a special price.
This quilt was inspired by my Polka Dot Bikini quilt and my love of pieced borders. When I designed Radiance, I was looking for the perfect pattern to use the new Mariner’s Cloth fabric that Alison released last spring. I thought it would be a bit unexpected to use the white striped Mariner’s Cloth as the orange peel shapes on a ground of lots of vibrant colors. I had some solids that coordinated well with Alison Glass prints in the shop, so that is the direction it went. It took a bit of experimentation to get the measurements just right so that stripy border comes together, but I love how it looks!
I’m thinking of offering kits to make quilt similar to mine. What do you think?
If you like the palette for this quilt and want to get the look for your own project, you’ll love Alison’s latest fabric collection, Road Trip. These fabrics are seriously heavenly if you love saturated colors in offbeat shades like I do. The collection has just landed in stores, and I have a few full collection bundles left as well as yardage of favorite prints. All U.S. orders ship free with code “October” and international customers get $10 off with code “Autumn”.
Next up: I’m making another Radiance quilt with the next Tula Pink fabrics…I can’t wait to show you, it’s SO pretty!
