It’s finally here! The much anticipated big project I have been working on for several months: The Classic Curves Ruler. You know I love curved piecing in quilting and I have a drawer overflowing with templates to prove it. Last year I had an idea to make a tool that would simplify the cutting for curved piecing. I wanted a tool that would allow me to throw out all those templates and not make any more!
The Classic Curves Ruler is my first product release that is not a quilt pattern, and I couldn’t be happier to share it with quilters. I want to teach everyone to sew curves. I want to be your favorite designer for curved pieced quilts!
The CCR allows you to cute curved shapes in ten (ten!!) sizes, from 4″ to 8 1/2″. The basic shape is a quarter circle, so that means you can create designs with quarter circles, half-circles, Pac-Man, and full circles. The great thing is that you can do so much more! I have made quilts with Orange Peel shapes, arcs, and rings. That makes the CCR a super fun and useful addition to the quilting toolbox.
The quilt top above is the first project I made with the CCR. I actually made this with the cardboard prototype that I made to see if my design idea would work. Don’t you love the apple core shapes?
This weekend I am at Quilt Market presenting my patterns and the Classic Curves Ruler to sewing industry folks (quilt shop owners). I am hoping to get them stocked in your local stores. The Ruler will go on sale on my website here next week. In the meantime, I will be sharing a bunch of the quilts I have made with the CCR and the brand new patterns coming out to go with it.
Help me stay energetic during Market! Tell me what you think about the CCR in the comments here. (-:
