All new! Links is my latest quilt pattern featured in Quilters Companion magazine. This fun and easy quilt is ideal for showcasing your favorite colors. Quilters Companion is not widely available outside of Australia, but you can get this issue digitally at Magzter.
One of the reasons I am proud to be a contributor to Quilters Companion is the high quality of projects in each issue. My Links quilt is a great beginner level quilt and quick to make, but there are also a great variety of projects at more advanced skill levels. This makes it a worthy look for...
A couple weeks ago I showed you my little Flowering Snowball quilt in progress...I was experimenting with how to make the block without using the usual templates. It worked out, but my blocks were a teeny bit wonky so I had to add sashing to square them up a bit. WELL! This little top is finished and I love it! It's so imperfect, yet so lovable....with all those cheery colors and prints. I am loving this sunny little quilt in this gray month of the year.
I am happy with the decision to add the sashing. Not only did it...
Have you seen the new Garden Dreamer fabrics by Maureen Cracknell (Art Gallery Fabrics)? I am loving the jewel tone colors and basic prints in this one. Just plain beautiful.
The collection is pretty well rounded with a set of darker prints in fuchsia, teal and indigo, plus a bit of mustard. Then there is a group of light prints that offer a nice contrast to the deeper colors...soft powder pink, cream and seafoam green. Mixed in with all is an unexpected touch of orange. The color mix makes for a versatile grouping that doesn't scream matchy-matchy.
As I searched through...
So happy to share a new quilt! This is Vivid Grid, appearing in the brand new issue of Quilts and More magazine.
Sometimes it seems like forever between the time I make a quilt for a magazine and when I finally get to show you. It can be so hard to wait! As you can see from the photos, I made this quilt last summer...and I am so excited about it. It is a fabulous quilt for scraps, so the timing of the release is perfect for all of those determined to sew scraps and stash this New Year.
A couple of weeks ago, I showed you this new fabric, Here Comes the Fun from Art Gallery Fabrics and mentioned I had big plans for it...well, for once, I actually got right on those plans!
I have always loved the classic quilt design called Flowering Snowball. It is such an interesting combination of curved piecing (my fav!) and there are so many different looks you can achieve by mixing up the color placement, using solids/white vs prints, etc. That pretty much describes everything I like in a quilt! My challenge was that I wanted to figure out how to...
Happy New Year! and Happy New Sewing! I have a fresh scrappy quilt pattern just right for something brand new in 2017. The bonus is, you can feel good about making Daisy because it is perfect for scraps and small cuts of fabric (10" squares, etc). If you have resolved to sew your stash this year, this is your quilt (-: (find it in my shop, Here)
Daisy was originally published in Quilters' Companion magazine last fall and I have seen some wonderful versions already pop up from that. I think this would be a fun pattern to experiment with different...
Last week I showed you the beginnings of this cute little quilt and now I have it finished! My first finished top of 2017.
I started with a layer cake (10" squares) of the Aubade Song to Dawn collection from Moda Fabrics. This is an entire collection of basic prints in only blue and white and gray. I wanted to try some very small curved orange peel shapes, keeping the center fabric in tact.
I decided for the start of this year to work on a series of small quilts. This is partly due to a larger project I am working...
