A brand new collection has landed from Art Gallery Fabrics! Here Comes the Fun, designed by Caroline Hulse (@sewcaroline) is pretty much irresistible to a color lover like me. These are my kind of fabrics: basic prints, a few with text, lots of clear colors and geometric designs. The scale of the prints is ideal for quilting, with a good mix and lots of contrast.
There are lots of options for these pretties…perfect just as they are, you could easily use a bundle of fat quarters and pair them up with a solid color, white or black (or all three!) and take right off with your favorite quilting pattern. I think I would love this made into a bright version of my Eclipse pattern!
But if you are like me and figure, why not add more? Above, I have picked out my favorite AGF basics from my stash in colors perfect for the Here Comes the Fun fabrics. I like how the circle elements at top add more saturated color to the mix and the square elements at the bottom lighten things up. They all hang well together and add to the variety of the Here Comes the Fun collection. Plus, at this time of year? These summery colors just make me happy.
I actually have a specific plan for this collection. The flowering snowball quilt pattern is a classic that has been on my quilting “to-do” list for a long time. I am finally going to make it happen with Here Comes the Fun prints and solid yellow-green (this is Limeade from AGF Pure Elements) and white. I am super excited to get started on this, and guess what? I am creating a pattern that doesn’t require the flowering snowball template set. Stay tuned!
