Fall is here…the air is crisp and cool instead of hot and heavy with humidity. It is a time of beginnings…returning from summer vacation, school for the kids and me, and lots of quilting projects! I usually am pretty good about starting and finishing projects rather than having a whole bunch of quilts in progress, but I seem to have buried myself recently! So many exciting new things…the discipline to finish is a bit challenging (-:
A few things on my sewing table the last few weeks:
Finishing my Summer Bloom quilt (yea!) and its pattern. I am so excited about this quilt…and how fun to have such wonderful support on instagram and here…thanks for the sweet comments and interest in the pattern. It will be ready soon!
My scrappy version of the Trillium quilt pattern. I have all the pieces for this guy cut and sewn, but it has been sidelined for a bit. I just need to sew the hexagons together into the top…. The colors are different for me, using prints from several of Pat Bravo’s recent collections (Art Gallery Fabrics), but it’s fun to stretch a bit with this palette.
And of course I wouldn’t feel like myself if I didn’t have some kind of curved piecing going on! I just started this beauty and cannot wait to see it finished…just a peak for now, full reveal in 2017.
So, while I feel little like I am in a mess of unfinished work, it will all come together soon. If you want to put a positive spin on having all those Unfinished Quilts (UFO’s), look at it like this: more UFO’s means an explosion of finishes in the near future!
