I have exciting news! My newest quilt design is featured this month in Quilts and More Magazine. The quilt is called Spin Art and is even on the cover of the magazine! I hope you look for it at your local bookstore and quilt shop.
Spin Art was made with the new Zen Chic fabric collection, Flow, (Moda, 2016) and let me tell you, these fabrics are wonderful! The colors are beautiful and pair perfectly with Zen Chic’s last collection, For You. The Flow prints are basics, making them easy to add to any quilt design. I really like them for this star pattern because they almost read as solids, so the prints don’t interfere with the strong patchwork design, you get great color and contrast even in a quilt without any solids! I used a Layer Cake (pre-cut pack of 10″ squares) for my sample quilt.
My local quilt store, Quilt Beginnings, is offering a kit of Flow fabrics to make a quilt like mine in Quilts and More. You can order a kit including the magazine or just the fabrics. If you are interested, I hope you will give them the business since they are a great support to me! To order the kit, call (614)799-2688. QuiltBeginnings.com
My sample quilt was long arm quilted by Teresa Sylva (@quiltingismybliss)…she is so talented, be sure and follow her for quilting inspiration! Aurifil provided me with thread for piecing and Hobbs Batting provided the batting. I love their products and am so grateful they support me!
The Spin quilt is for confident beginner to intermediate quilters. It is all straight piecing…no paper/foundation piecing and no templates…so it is easier than it looks to sew!
