Issue 20 of Quilt Now Magazine has arrived, and I am so happy to finally share a quilt that I designed and is featured inside. Fly Over is a scrappy star quilt with a twist! Perfect for scraps and stash.
I made Fly Over during a rather long period between fall 2014 and spring 2015…it was one of those that I worked on a bit here and there between other projects, and loved every minute of choosing fabrics and sewing it. My color and print inspiration started with the two Art Gallery Fabrics collections Winged and Indelible (2014) and then I just kept adding lots of other scraps. Most of the fabrics are from Art Gallery Fabrics and it was long-arm quilted by Darby Myers of Quilted Squid. I use Hobbs Batting and Aurifil thread.
Look for the new issue of Quilt Now to find the instructions to make this super dynamic quilt. I will have the pattern available to buy individually from my shop later this spring.
