Today is the last day of the Super Simple Sampler series for October. I created the four blocks above to go with the theme of triangles. Today I have the instructions to make our last triangle sampler block, which is the one center left in the photo above.
Cutting
from each of the light gray and dark blue prints: (2) 3″ squares, cut diagonally to yield four half square triangles of each color.
from the yellow: (1) 3″ square, cut diagonally to yield two half square triangles (HST)
from the pink: (4) 2 1/2″ squares
Sewing
1. Arrange the fabric pieces as shown above. Match the triangles, right sides facing, and sew on the long side: make three gray/blue, one gray/yellow, and one yellow/blue. Press the seams open.
2. Measure the HST units and trim/square up to 2 1/2″.
3. Arrange the fabric pieces in three rows as shown above. Sew the HST units to the pink squares to form the rows. Pay close attention that the HST units are oriented correctly. Press toward the pink.
4. Sew the rows together and press well.
I really love all these blocks so far, but this might be my favorite. Do you have a favorite from this month or from the cross blocks last month?
Thanks for following along!
