Finished Mini Challenge Quilt

I finished my Timeless Treasures and Dear Stella Challenge quilt! This little cutie is a chubby 20″ square, made with only fabrics from those two companies. I posted about my process on this quilt Here.

One of the rules of the challenge was to use as least two fabrics from each, Timeless Treasures and Dear Stella. From TT, I used the light gray Sketch and pink zigzag (from Matilda). The rest are from Dear Stella, including the binding stripe.
When I decided to join the fun, I thought I had way more of these in my stash. I figured this was a great opportunity to use some scraps and leftovers. Well, some of these were in my stash, but not nearly enough for my scrappy taste or the design I wanted. Of course, by then I was so excited, I wasn’t going to quit just because I didn’t have the stash….so I went shopping! Picked up a few more 1/8th yards at a local shop.

I sent my photos in for the contest.
I loved making this quilt and love the result. Here’s what I learned from this “Challenge”:
1. Mini quilts provide nearly instant gratification and are super fun to design and make
2. Lack of fabric on hand will not stop a determined quilter
3. Striped binding is best! my binding tutorial is Here
Looking forward to seeing the other minis in the challenge. If you want to see, check out instagram #DSTTchallenge
