A Rainbow (quilt) is Good This Time of Year

I am joining in the fun at the Bloggers’ Quilt Festival at Amy’s Creative Side. My entry to the show is my Rainbow Goose Quilt.

I was curious about bargello quilts at one point, but wanted to experiment with something different, so I made this up. The fabrics are nearly solid batiks in graduated colors and the geese blocks are machine pieced. (those really skinny ones were a wee bit tricky!)

I remember making this when my son was a baby. Every time I had the strips all laid out on the floor, he would crawl right through them and play with them!
I think my favorite things about this quilt are the illusion that it is wavy and three-dimensional, and also the border. It kind of makes you do a double take to see the center of the quilt set like that.

I am entering the ROYGBIV category at the Quilt Festival. Click here to see the other beautiful quilts. You can vote for your favorites in all the categories starting November first.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you come back again soon!
