My dream is to design quilts, write patterns, and share my love of the craft! It would also be nice to make enough money to quit my day job, play with fabric, and take vacations whenever I want. One can Dream, right?
I took a bunch of classes at Sewing Summit last weekend to learn about blogging, networking, building a creative business…all very informative. You will be seeing some exciting changes here, I hope.
I even met a few Sew-lebrities, like Pat Bravo (above), whom I was lucky enough to sit next to at dinner on Thursday! I also found out that Amy Smart (Diary of a Quilter) is just as fun and friendly in person as she seems on her blog.
I did try out the Bernina Sewing machines they had in the sewing room, although only at lunch breaks. I didn’t get much done on my Book Club mini that I took with me. I overestimated the free time and underestimated my tiredness level at the end of each day.
The highlights of the trip were seeing my Utah family. That’s my brother and his pup, Dusty, above, trying to sleep while I was getting ready for meetings on Saturday. How about that quilt my mom made?
When I talked on the phone with my older son on Friday, he told me he was having fun staying at Grandpa’s, “we are going to build a treehouse that is up in a real tree!”
A good week. Hope yours is, too.
