I have written once before about the Open Door Art Studio. It is a day program that provides art supplies and space for people with disabilities to create and sell their work. I wanted to share their summer exhibit, Small Wonders.
A fun textile piece for us quilt lovers. I agree with the sentiment.
I visit Open Door each month as part of my Day Job to deliver medications for one of the participants whom I help to look after. The woman who accepts the medicine each month happened to discover this blog through my last post on the studio and we have connected through our common creativity.
When I stopped in yesterday, she asked me about fabric shopping (we frequent the same local shop, it turns out) and showed me pictures of some stockings she made for Christmas. She mentioned that she once worked at a fabric shop and we both laughed when she said that quilters are pretty much hoarders.
Can’t say I disagree. But I prefer the term “stasher”
How great is that mini quilt above that says, “people do not exist, we are just God’s imagination”
