Fabulously Finished (a top, anyway)

Good Gracious! it seems that this quilt top has taken forever to get finished, even though I did just start it in February. This is what you have seen me refer to as my Noteworthy quilt, not due to its own merits, but because I used the Moda Sweetwater “Noteworthy” collection of fabrics as my starting point.

I added bits of prints from my stash, too, and I really love how the color of this looks. It reminds me of the rainbow sorbet I loved when I was a little girl.

Although the design didn’t quite work the way I envisioned it, I am glad I plowed through this one. Hopefully I can start quilting it this weekend. I want to do another with this pattern with slightly different color placement to emphasize the shape made by the strips around the stars…

I wrote a tutorial on my method for easy (yes, easy) mitered corners. Check it out HERE.
Next up for this Work-in-Progress: Quilting!

I like the skinny strips surrounding the large geometric blocks. Are those bias cut or a trick of the eye?
