Every once in a while (like once a week), I get really excited about a collection of fabric. My latest favorite is PB&J from Moda. Have you seen it!? I had to order a fat eighth bundle from Green Fairy.
Anyway. The Noteworthy collection from Sweetwater for Moda was released in January, and it was one that I got excited about. Here are a few of the prints (I may have also bought a fat eighth bundle of this one….Green Fairy loves me):
The colors are so sweet and fresh and the prints are good “read as solids”, which I like to use and can mix in with other fabrics.
I realized, though, that there is not much variation in value and all the prints are very small-scale. So as I plan a project with these beauties, I needed to add some dark pieces and some larger scale, here are a few:
The photo doesn’t show the value difference too well, but these add a good spark to all the medium prints of Noteworthy. Next I added some solids,
Pretty.
Here is a block I sewed up, just a sneak peek…
Must discipline myself to get my low volume quilt basted and quilted. That is my project for this weekend, then hopefully I can really plunge in on piecing this one.
Oh, and I have a mountain of mulch set to be dumped in front of my house tomorrow. I guess that will demand some of my weekend, too.
too much to do, too little time.
smiles!
