Simply Color: palette play

I have thought of almost nothing but quilting since returning from Quilt Camp last week! amazing how a little inspiration and good company (and lots of sewing) can get you fired up.

Unfortunately, I haven’t had too much time, what with a certain big holiday coming up! but I did get out my Simply Color layer cake and start playing with fabric…

I have a design already created, but didn’t want any repeats of prints, so I eliminated all the duplicates. That meant I had to find some others to replace them so I have 42 again (the pattern I am making is designed for a layer cake, so I wanted to stick with that amount of fabric).
I added some solids…

…and several more prints (I am just loving that dark purple on the far right from Terrain), including a bright orange haystack print and bright green dot to add a bit of zing!

So here is my palette, a bit of new, a bit of stash, and here are a few blocks sewn up:

Just some simple, colorful piecing.

enjoy your week.
Oh, I keep forgetting, you simply must see this quilt by Nifty
