I received this early birthday present from my mother-in-law today. She is very talented at stained glass, she made this window for me to put in a mirror frame/candle holder I have. The candles sit behind the glass (I haven’t put them in yet). Isn’t this beautiful? she does something like heat the glass, cool it, break it, then heat it again on top of another piece…
On My Lap:
here is another peek at my Reunion Charm quilt! I have finished quilting it and and now binding, so excited to show you the finish, maybe this weekend. Lots of people were interested in the Sashiko Quilting Machine when I mentioned it before. Unfortunately, it’s not mine. I borrowed the floor model at the quilt store to see if I liked it. I likes. I wants. More Later.
Things I thought you should know:
Visit Melissa and see how you can help make gifts for soldiers in Afghanistan.
The current Patchwork Issue of Quilt Mania has lots of goodies in it. If you have time to kill after work, before picking up the kids, stop in to Barnes and Noble and check it out. There is a great animal quilt in there that reminded me of Snoodles and her quilt/pet show.
If you need (more) inspiration on color and design, check out the website Company C. I am drooling over their rugs, pillows, fabrics….Again, I wants.
The September issue of Better Homes and Gardens has an article about Amy Butler. She is a fellow Ohioan and seems to be a gardener, too. (fabrics and flowers are good things to love)
I’ll be back with some finishes soon….
PS. my favorite bumper sticker today: “I, too, could be a handsome prince, but I’d rather be a horny toad”. What did you enjoy today?
