The hubs and the kids left town this morning. This is the first time in six years (since pre-children) that I am left home alone, completely left to run amok.
Cleo and I are having a girls weekend and we are living large all weekend!
Today was a great start, two friends came over this morning and we sewed up blocks for a baby quilt. Susie is expecting a grandson on Halloween, so we started this scrappy autumn number:
Cleo and I went out to play ball and roll in the crunchy, dry grass (Cleo, not me) a couple of times during the hot part of the day, then went for a long walk in the woods near my house after I went out to dinner with a friend. We watered the garden and did a little weed inspection before coming in (hot and sweaty. it is so humid here!) for more sewing. I am determined to finish my Reunion quilt top this weekend. I am trying to gird up my loins (isn’t that a funny expression?) to try quilting it myself on my machine. We’ll see if I am up for FMQ tomorrow.
I may be back tomorrow with a finished top, we’ll see.
you know what else if fun about being home alone? I set up all my sewing stuff in the kitchen, all spread out. I have a sewing room upstairs, but Cleo doesn’t go upstairs (a strange neurosis of hers). So this way we keep each other company, and I have the whole living room floor to spread out my blocks!
