Blooming Rainbows!

First and foremost…thank you all for the wonderful welcome! I cannot believe how many visitors have stopped in to say hello. I apologize for not personally responding to each comment, but be assured they all make me smile!

To go along with my clever title, I had planned on posting some pictures of my flower jungle garden. But mother nature has decided to turn on the sprinkler over said garden, so I am just including the rainbow part. I drove home from work so fast, picked up my boys, trying to get home before the big storm. It started pouring just as I pulled into the garage. I got soaked running out to rescue some potted plants I haven’t put in the ground yet from the wind.

LynCC’s (whatahootquilts.blogspot.com) rainbow Jane quilt inspired me to share my own rainbow.

I made this quilt a few years ago when we lived in Portland for a short time. I wanted to try a bargello, but decided to spiff it up a bit with the flying geese. No, it’s not crooked. I put the borders on that way to add even more spiffiness. It now hangs above my bed. I am blessed with very tall ceilings perfect for hanging even large quilts. (having a large black pup who naps on my bed keeps me from having a nice quilt actually on the bed)
Check out LynCC’s rainbow Jane blocks. It is such a creative take on that pattern. And quite an undertaking!

It’s a great day.

Sharon

something to make you laugh: walking out to the car after school, my three-year-old suddenly said, “I smell frozen poop”

“Frozen poop”?! lolol You’re so sweet to mention my Jane project, Sharon. *LOVE* your rainbow bargello, most particularly the flying geese you added in. I hadn’t seen one like that before.

This is a beautiful quilt. I really like the way it sits inside its borders. How lucky you are to have a big wall to hang it.

  5. I’m so glad someone else has a crazy life like mine. The flying geese really add some pizzaz to your quilt….lovely.

So glad I’m not smelling frozen poop here….but that is not to say it wouldn’t happen.

    Giggles,
