Super Simple Sampler Block #20

What a fun week making Flying Geese blocks for the Super Simple Sampler! These six inch blocks have been a great way to practice my precision piecing...some of the pieces are so tiny. We are just past half-way through making the blocks. This is going to be a really fun sampler quilt! Here is how to make this block... Cutting from the gray prints: cut (2) 6 1/2" x 1 1/2" strips; (1) 6 1/2" x 2 1/2" strip from light blue prints: cut (6) 2 1/2" x 1 1/2" rectangles from each, yellow and pink: cut (6) 1 1/2" squares Sewing I showed tutorials...

I do have to say: I am really happy to have the opportunity to sew with these prints. I knew I wanted some as soon as I saw them pop up on websites: those bright colors are...

Quilters’ Book Club project: flying geese

I was a bit overambitious when I took this project to Sewing Summit last week. I was expecting to have more open sewing time for personal projects. Oh, well. I got these bits sewn during lunch hours. The design for these blocks is inspired by the book, "PillowPop", which is our September Quilters' book club feature. I mentioned in my post about this book that the patterns would be really fun to adapt to any kind of sewing project, not just for pillows. I am going to make a Mini Quilt using four of these blocks. The geese will "fly around"...
