Sometimes it seems like I have a million projects going and nothing is getting done. That's why it feels especially great when I get to a point where stars align and things come together. This week is one of those times: some finished quilts and new patterns getting done, ready for Quilt Market and to share with you!
One of my goals this spring is to have the print pattern of Daisy available so that shops can carry it (it is also available as a pdf file, Here). I made a new, brighter version of the pattern for the cover. This...
A couple of weeks ago I told you about a new quilt design I have featured in the new issue of Love Patchwork and Quilting Magazine. At that time, I didn't have a copy of the issue yet. I received my copy and it is especially nice, so I thought I would share some projects here for inspiration. Warning: these images might make you want to get sewing!
As you can see from the cover, this issue is all about color! The main one there on the cover is a scrappy design that would be fun to make in coordinated...
One of the things I am working on to prepare for Quilt Market is a new version of my Daisy quilt pattern. I want to make one with lots of bright colors from my stash of polka dots and Alison Glass. I started cutting last week, hoping to have the top done before we went on a planned trip for spring break.
These fabrics totally make me happy. While I was cutting and sewing, the thought kept going through my mind, "these colors are so bright, and so clashy, but so AWESOME!". I hope you all feel that way about...
I know I say this every time, but I SUPER happy to finally share this little quilt with you! Color Story is featured this month in Love Patchwork and Quilting magazine. This issue is on newsstands now in the U.K. and will be here in the U.S. in 3-4 weeks. Be sure and watch out for it...always a pretty publication.
Color Story is a wall hanging size or baby quilt. I truly enjoyed making this one...from the design to the fabric and sewing. Fabrics are from one of my "collections" (bins of fabrics waiting for just the right project), including...
Goodness! Doesn't it just seem like there is always so much beautiful fabric available and we just can't create quickly enough to use it all? I have been feeling that way lately (maybe that's why I have suddenly started making small quilts). The new fabric collection, Wonderful Things, designed by Bonnie Christine for Art Gallery Fabrics, is truly a wonderful thing.
The collection comes in two color ways...the prints on the left in the photo above are the soft pastel palette of Wonderful Things: light pink, mint green and periwinkle blue are whisper soft. These colors get me even more eager...
So excited to be leading my first quilting retreat this fall! Lakeside Chautauqua resort is hosting a quilting workshop September 8-9, 2017. Lakeside is located near Lake Eerie in north central Ohio.
The event is billed as an opportunity to learn curved piecing, appliqué and reverse piecing...We will be working from my Eclipse and Whimsy Garden patterns to learn and practice these skills for two whole days! Of course, you are also welcome to bring your own projects and quilting questions you would like help with.
Check the description and registration information, Here.
I hope that if you are near this area...
