I have a brand new quilt to show you! This is called Lucky…my take on the classic stars that we all love in an Irish Chain style setting. The pattern is now available in my pattern shop and on Craftsy.
I made my sample quilt with scraps of Art Gallery Fabrics found in my stash…I was inspired by the indigo blue that seemed to be popping up in a lot of fabrics last summer. It is the perfect shade of my favorite color!
One thing that I think makes Lucky a winning pattern is the versatility it offers. The pattern sample was made with all blue stars and pink nine-patch blocks, but it would be awesome with the stars in rainbow colors and the nine-patches in black (just replace the green and yellow with your own favorites). You can also make Lucky with pre-cut fabrics like fat quarters, 10″ squares or 2 1/2″ strips. Nice for your favorite designer collection, or leftover scraps.
Big thanks to my sweet (and talented) mother for sewing up this sample for me, and Darby Myers for being the best pro-quilter ever!
As always, I also used Aurifil thread for my piecing. I love the smooth finish of Aurifil…it adds no bulk to my seams, and doesn’t clog up my machine with lint (-:
I hope you enjoy this sweet little quilt as much I do!
