It has been quite a whirlwind for me the last few weeks since classes started for the semester! I haven’t had much time for anything other than homework, but happily my mom came to visit me and help out for a few weeks and we have squeezed a bit of time in for sewing at last.
She brought the blocks for this amazing quilt with her and sewed up the top…it is made with my quilt pattern, Archer, and I love it! It looks so different from the pattern sample…great how it shows the versatility of the pattern to use scraps and her own personal color taste.
My mom is a master of the low volume quilt. She loves to mix up a ton of light background prints, and it totally works! She also made the pattern cover sample for my Hula Girl pattern, which is this same look. I admire her fearless attitude in quilting…she really has an anything-goes attitude that makes her quilts so fun.
I finished a huge project at school today, so I took the afternoon off to sew too. I am getting the blocks sewn up for my quilt with the new Coastline fabrics. I am feeling pretty ambitious and might just get this basted over the weekend. I would love to start quilting it next week. The blog tour for the Coastline fabrics has already started, so if you want to see the other projects (and maybe win some of the fabric), find the schedule Here.
It’s mostly back to homework and kids’ stuff this weekend, but fingers crossed for a minute at the sewing machine. Hope your weekend is relaxing, too!
