It is March already and time for another four blocks from Tula Pink’s City Sampler book. This has been our book club book all year, making four blocks each month. We only have two more months then over the summer I will post instructions to sew all the blocks into a great sampler quilt. (see previous Tula book club posts, Here, and last year’s book club, Here)
This month I chose the four-patch as the theme for my blocks. I made blocks #96, 83, 80 and 20 (clockwise from top in photo above).
As I was making these blocks, I was struck by just how cute a basic little four-patch can be!
As I frequently do, I did change up the blocks a bit. Above you see my version of block #96. I changed the fussy cut square in the original block to a four patch. I also goofed a bit when cutting, so I added two extra squares and rearranged the yellow strips.
It’s kind of fun to look at these blocks and imagine different ways of building them and making them my own way.
Of all of us, I think the cabin fever this winter is worst for Cleo. She got so excited when I got ready to go outside to take pictures, then waited patiently for me to take her out to play! Here she is supervising my layout showing some of the Tula blocks we have made so far.
The blocks are looking so cute! This week I will be publishing instructions to make four more blocks of my own design for you to make along with me.
