X-O hugs and kisses for a quilt!

I enjoyed your comments on the new Treasure Map quilt! so many ideas: reproductions, red/turquoise, all solids...they would be great!I sent a little surprise to three readers:PattySue Carroll,we will all wait to see what you create!!Here are a couple of other examples. My mom made the one with white background and colorful "x" blocks...doesn't it have a completely different look than mine with the low contrast?? I love.Em made the bottom blocks as a start for a baby boy quilt. I am totally loving the dark background with colorful "x" blocks. I wonder if she will add a "y" or...

Finished Quilts

Treasure Map Quilt

I have a new pattern to introduce to you! (and I will give some away, too)  I have finished the Treasure Map quilt and pattern, and now have it in my shop. This design is perfect for using either a layer cake or fat eight bundle (I used the fabric collection "Mod Century" from Moda) along with some solids for a modern look. The solids in my quilt are linen/cotton blend and I like the texture that they lend. The pattern includes instructions for a small lap quilt or crib quilt (54" x 56"). I backed mine with flannel to make it...

Indoor Voice, Please

I have noticed a growing popularity of "low volume" quilts, or "indoor voices", using a monochromatic palette of light value fabrics. I am loving them!Awhile back I showed you when my mom was cutting out low volume hexagons for a new project, here is a little progress on that,Look closely at how cute these prints are, such a great variety! (do you see the one with bras in the top picture?) She has made a twin size charm quilt! The hexagons are about six inches and machine pieced.I have been thinking about starting something with my Lucy's Crab Shack...

Putting it together: Mariner’s compass

I slacked a bit on my monthly compass block in January. I made the components but didn't assemble the block due to that fact that I used if for my class, then set it aside in my frenzy to work on other things.I now have six compasses completed:the first five (August through December) I made the first five just compasses with no background attached because I wasn't sure how the final quilt would be assembled. For my January/February step, I made a completed block:I am starting to formulate a plan for setting the blocks into a finished quilt. I thing...

My kind of vacation!

Yep, I did it. This is the scene in my hotel room this morning. I brought my featherweight and a quilting project to work on while the boys are skiing!!We arrived in Breckinridge, Colorado, on Tuesday and it is beautiful! The sun is actually shining! I didn't realize how gray and dreary it is in Ohio in the winter until I came to a place with SUN. The snow actually looks white and you can see little glittery crystals in it.I am linking up with Melissa for my February Finish Goals:finish my Treasure Map quilt I started last monthfinish...
